Questions, questions. Discover your answers right here.
How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal destroys individual hair follicles by using a laser that emits controlled pulses of light. The treatment requires no anaesthetic, and only involves a low level of discomfort.
The laser penetrates the top layer of skin and is absorbed by the natural skin chemical melanin. Diving further into the technical side, melanin is responsible for converting energy into heat. The heat is then transferred to the hair follicles, destroying them in the process.
How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?
The answer to this question is tricky, as each and every individual is different. Ultimately this treatment aims to destroy the hair follicles, and as this can only happen when the hair is actively growing, repeat treatments are needed to catch each hair whilst in this stage. As such most of our clients require between 4 and 6 treatments.
Will I need to take any steps to prep my skin for laser hair removal?
Yes – you’ll need to avoid any and all hair removal treatments – whether shaving, waxing or using hair removal creams. This ensures that the treatment is as effective as possible. You’ll also need to avoid tanning products and treatments, as this will heighten the pigment level in your skin, rendering the procedure less efficient.
Is laser hair removal always effective?
The results that this treatment achieves differ from person to person, as skin is a core element that effects the outcome.
Is this treatment suitable for everyone?
Yes, however if you have sensitive skin you may need a gel or aloe vera cream to soothe the treated area.
How long does laser hair removal take?
Using our advanced lasers this treatment can take as little as 15 to 30 minutes for a full leg. In comparison other lasers require around 90 minutes. The AW3 lasers we use direct the light and works on an area of 15mm by 50mm, safely working on large areas, quickly.
Is laser hair removal safe?
Absolutely – this technology is tried, tested and loved the world over by millions of consumers. Our in-salon experts are also extensively trained – leaving you in safe hands.
